Here we have an Eisenhower dollar
The Eisenhower dollar was made from 1971- 78, where it was made in honor of fame WW2 general and later on future 34th president of the United States of America Dwight D. Eisenhower.
While big and impressive the Eisenhower dollar does not contain any silver of any kind only in the 1976 bicentennial version of the Eisenhower does it actually contain silver, but these are made from good old copper nickel material. However, for all its beauty the Eisenhower dollar came to an end in 1978 because of low public demand for it and an apparent nationwide coin shortage in the late 1970s. But besides that, nowadays it's a very special coin and should be collected whenever possible.
